BIM and biodiversity: join TerrOïko on the OptiBioNum project

graphique

As part of the OptiBioNum research project that is about to get underway, we are recruiting a BIM coordinator intern to work on integrating ecological performance indicators into digital models of buildings and territories.

This internship builds upon our ongoing work over the past several years in the following areas :

  • development of indicators for assessing the ecological quality of constructions at various scales (individual buildings, entire neighborhoods, etc.), leveraging ecological modeling;
  • incorporation of biodiversity considerations into infrastructure and territorial management tools (BIM, digital twins).

The objective now is to create a demonstrator capable of simulating the projected impacts of different building and infrastructure design and management scenarios.

In this perspective, the tasks of the internship will be as follows :

  • literature research and familiarization with scientific and technical literature, notably relying on various research projects in which we have been involved in recent years (MINnD, BioBIM, DeMo, BISON, PSI-BIOM)
  • construction of the use case and its BPMN in collaboration with the project's ecology team
  • functional specifications with our IT development team, with a view to integrating the results into our software platform for ecological engineering
  • reworking of initial models, data, and digital mock-ups, with a view to implementing the use case on the demonstrator

Depending on the speed of progress of the project, the descriptive aspect of the use case may be developed at two scales: that of the buildings and their surroundings, and that of the territory of implantation as a whole.

This internship will also serve as a basis for the construction of a PhD project (2026-2028) on the use of digital mock-ups for the management of biodiversity in territorial planning.

Some practical information:

  • Office location : Sorèze (Tarn) – Telecommuting is difficult to arrange for this project
  • Working hours : 35hours/week, flexible between 9 AM and 6 PM

If you want to join us, just send your CV and cover letter to Sylvain Moulherat : sylvain.moulherat@terroiko.fr.

We look forward to receiving your applications by November 1, 2024!
