Tram-MidPyr: development of tools for analysis and territorial assessment of the green and blue infrastructure network

logo Région Midi Pyrénées The Tram-MidPyr project aims to develop tools for analyzing and assessing the Green and Blue Infrastructure (Trame Verte et Bleue, TVB) network for urban planning documents.

To create a TVB tool adapted for urban planning documents, TerrOïko conducted a market study in 2012-2013, engaging with both consulting firms and local authorities to identify the specifications for a TVB tool based on a functional approach to ecological continuities. The current geographic approaches and methodologies face several limitations for both study buyers (elected officials, developers) and consulting firms:  :

  1. Scientific Relevance -Lack of objective recommendations based on quantitative and standardized results.)
  2. Study Timelines and Costs, delays and costs associated with TVB studies, particularly due to fauna and flora inventories.
  3. Pedagogy and Fixed Action Plans: Rigidity in the restoration action program for the TVB makes effective implementation challenging.

The TVB Tools innovation program by TerrOïko aims to provide digital tools for analyzing the TVB network, addressing the limitations identified in earlier TVB study methods. This program targets urban planning and ecological engineering consulting firms, as well as local authorities involved in these areas (SCOT, PNR, Agglomerations, etc.). It consists of developing a cloud-computing platform that leverages various ecological modeling algorithms developed and tested through research, including those from MetaConnect.
